Benefits of Bible Quizzing
Bible Quizzing is a great way to immerse young people in personal study of God’s Word.
They memorize extensive passages of Scripture,
learn valuable lessons about Godly character and values,
and build social friendships with other like-minded people.
Regular study sessions teach the quizzers about discipline, persistence and teamwork.
Monthly tournaments provide opportunity for quizzers to exhibit their knowledge of the quizzing material,
to compete against other teams in a fun, safe and Godly environment,
and to fellowship with other quizzers near their own age.
Any young person who commits time to studying God’s
word is a winner – whether or not their success shows up at the scoreboard, or on
tournament result pages.
Being involved in quizzing teaches young people lessons useful for life –
perseverance, responsibility, faithfulness, teamwork, good attitude, just to name a few.
To quiz competitively, a quizzer must have a good understanding of the material,
be well-versed in quizzing techniques, and be able to work as a team.

They may only be kids now, but they are the future leaders in our churches and the apostolic movement.
They are the next generation of Sunday School teachers, youth workers, evangelists,
faithful saints, pastors and missionaries.
Their ability to witness to people around them is greatly enhanced by their knowledge of scripture.
The local church also benefits greatly from quizzing.
I say this because the leadership team in our own local church in Oregon City contains many people
who have quizzed at various levels over the last 25 years.
Bible Quizzing is most definitely a worthwhile investment of our time, effort and money.
Countless coaches, assistants, pastors, parents and others have provided direction, support
and motivation; they also benefit from their contribution to this worthy cause. Their reward
may not come in a tangible form here and now, but God will certainly recognize their
sacrifices in eternity.
